Group Financial Accountant

Location: Downing St, Smethwick

Job Description

Hadley Group have a new opportunity for a Group Financial Accountant who will be responsible for the production and development of the groups internal financial reporting; including the consolidation of management accounts, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets as well as completion of year end statutory accounts and carrying out associated compliance with the group’s external auditors and tax advisors.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Produce annual and monthly financial statements under UK GAAP
  • Liaise with group external auditors and tax advisors and carry out planning and preparation for year-end audit process and associated activities
  • Review monthly group accounts at individual company and division level
  • Consolidate monthly group accounts including necessary consolidation adjustments , intergroup reconciliations and cash flow reporting
  • Produce annual business plans for head office function and group holding company
  • Assist the Director of Finance in continuing development of finance systems for management accounts, budgeting/forecasting and financial reporting and support in the development of the groups BI and reporting framework
  • Provide support to the groups finance teams around the world and be a reference point for technical accounting queries
  • Consolidate business plans and forecasts to create group balance sheet and cash flow projections
  • Continuously review finance processes and workflows to suggest, design and implement improvements
  • Deputise for the Director of Finance when absent and assist with ad hoc projects when required

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree accompanied by either ACA,ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Previous experience in the production of statutory accounts from trial balance to complete financial statements
  • Previous experience in performing audits or dealing with auditors whilst an audit is in progress
  • Able to interpret data, provide analysis, challenge the status quo and investigate issues
  • Ability to think pro-actively and analytically in order to solve problems
  • Working knowledge of FRS 102
  • ERP/ Financial systems expertise and advanced Excel skills
