Electrical Engineer

Location: Downing St, Smethwick

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Centre of Excellence and be responsible for completing electrical builds on machinery & equipment used in cold roll forming manufacturing process i.e. Coil handling/power, presses/rolling & mills/handling equipment throughout the Hadley Group both in the UK and internationally.

Working hours for this position will be; Monday –Thursday 8.30am-5pm & Friday 8.30am – 4pm

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build electrical control cabinets, wire & electrically test production machinery
  • Working from electrical drawings to ensure safe & reliable performance of machinery
  • Electrically trouble shoot PLC, drive and control systems
  • Support maintenance issues when requested to enable accurate fault finding of problems
  • Liaise with designers to resolve technical issues and on any modifications or improvements that can be made
  • Contribute to ensuring projects are delivered on time, efficiently and on budget
  • Assist to keep all machinery maintained to a satisfactory working condition
  • Attend meetings to agree build plans /design buy offs
  • Assist in the development of apprentices
